Training a weimaraner puppy

I'm hoping to get a weimaraner puppy in just over a month and am wondering what websites/books out there are the best ones for me to learn about training and taking care of him. I'm willing to invest the energy and effort it takes to train and love a dog and I'm really excited about getting him... I'm just not sure which is the best book out there. My sister had one for her weimar but lost it and can't remember which it was. Does anyone know what will be best?

Also- any cute name ideas? I'm trying to get a blue one, possibly a red one. I like more people-ish names and don't really want to name the dog "Blue" "Red" or "Bullet" or any other very dog-oriented names.
I might go with Aidan, but again.... who knows until you meet the dog? I just want to have a few in mind so, if you have any suggestions, what do you think would be cute (but not humiliating for the dog, especially once he grows up)?

I've attached several websites that are good for basic information on Weimaraners. There is a test you can take to make sure you are ready for a Weimaraner. They can become extremely difficult if not trained from 8 weeks.

Remember that Weimaraners do not do well if spanked, in fact they become very wary of the person that spanks them, so learn to be an effective pack leader without resorting to hitting or yelling. Weims have two very impressionable stages in their lives. if anything traumatic happens then it will stay with them for their entire lives.

Because they are prone to bloat it's always best to feed your Weim twice a day and make sure that it's several hours before or after exercising. They do require a lot of exercise, and it's best to take them to a dog park early and make sure they are socialized well or they can become aggressive towards other dogs. They hare very protective of their home and humans and will bark at anything that comes near or into the yard.

Do not feed people food because they suffer from gastroenteritis and pancreatitis. It can become very expensive to own a Weimaraner so be sure you have "SUMS OF MONEY" for their medical care, I'm not kidding you on this one, they are expensive medically and I've spent thousands in medical care for mine and she's only three.

They say Weims are not good for first time dog owners, however, this is my first dog and I spent a lot of time and money training her, I'm still training her, she gets plenty of exercise along with agility training and she's the best dog I've ever known, she's calm and obedient and wonderful with children and very affectionate. Enroll in obedience classes early, don't assume you can train on your own and you'll have a great dog, failure to do so you could end up with an unruly nightmare of a dog.

If raised correctly and given rules, boundaries and exercise you can have a fantastic dog who will be very affectionate and loyal.

Remember, be the pack leader or your dog will be and trust me you don't want him to be.

Also the two colors are Blue and Silver not red. I have a Blue called Graycie Lou, she was named after Sandra Bullocks character in Miss Congeniality, but also it fits because shes Gray. So if you're getting a Blue Weim then they name Grayson is a great name for a male also Gunnar since they are gun dogs.
